Welcome to Haldon Freeride, we’ve been working hard over the last few months to get as much building done as possible before the spring/summer.
It’s coming along, but we’re certainly not out of the woods yet.
The site covers all the relevant info regarding making a trip to Haldon, there’s a gallery of pics to show you what to expect, aswell as directions and a few
rules and regulations we ask you to make sure you are familiar with before you come along. Rules and Regs
Once completed Haldon will offer something to all walks and abilities of cyclist with trails being graded from the more modest Family Cycle Trail & Adventure Cycle Trail, right up to red, black and double black runs for the more adrenaline inclined.
The Family Cycle Loop and Adventure trail are 100% complete, so if you fancy taking the kids out for a bit of a cruise through the forest then go right ahead. The trails are perfectly rideable in all conditions, so don’t let the usual Haldon weather patterns put you off.
The ‘Red’ and ‘Black routes are under a constant state of development so before you go out on the trails we ask you to take a look at our ‘News’ and ‘Info’ sections.
This will give you all the latest information regarding trail closures/conditions, any forestry operations that will affect your ride and where you will need to take particular caution due to any trail building/maintenance that may be taking place.
The courses have been tailored to match these gradings for safety, so when we say it’s a double black run we mean it, you will require a level of skill outside of the ordinary to attempt riding it.
All of the runs will have way markers colour coded for the different ability grades to make sure nobody can get lost.
We welcome people to come and ride with open arms, that’s why we're building it afterall, but please bear in mind that a lot of time and effort has gone into making the trails, and we urge people to not alter or adapt any of the trails in anyway. Any kind of ‘illegal building’ will result in a closure of the project and a whole heap of really annoyed local riders, so please, just don’t do it!
If there is something you would like to see at Haldon then please get in touch and have a chat with one of us, were always open to ideas.
We hope to see you on the trail, so make sure to say hi or stop for a chat if you come across us in the woods, we’ll be the ones carrying spades and
bits of timber, and making lots of chainsaw noise.
Please be courteous to other riders, abide by the rules and regulations,
but above all else, have fun!
